Specimen Number14-3-017Alternate NumberSW-11BCommentsSample collected by Daven Mashburn. This and sample 14-3-019 are from a PGE cycle referred to as PCOA (plagioclase cumulate with oligocrysts of augite). Can run 200ppb Pt+Pd to 1opt Pt+Pd. Occurs above POC unit (sample SW-17). Sulfide content increases as grade increases. A norite cumulate that is not in collection typically overlies this PCOA sequence. In Teaching CollectionNoMineral(s)plagioclasepyroxeneRock NameanorthositeDistrictStillwaterMineStillwaterExternal LinkMindatGeo-LocationundefinedSub-LocationundefinedDeposit TypeLayered mafic intrusionGeo-Coords[1] Reference MaterialACL-171: Gold, D.P., and Mueller, P., eds., 1979, Field Trip Guide to the Stillwater Layered Intrusive Complex, Montana; U.S. Nat'l.
