Specimen Number4-8-028Alternate NumberR-8CommentsDiabase, potassically altered. Biotite-orthoclase alteration results in a finely mottled, dark intergrowth of biotite with minor chlorite. Plagioclase is altered to biotite + sericite, with rare replacement by K-spar. Minor gray-green chlorite + quartz + sericite occurs along selvages and fractures, and chalcopyrite is common.
